...beCause It Can't Happen Without Each Other???
So far in my time at Sherman College of Chiropractic, I have experienced some challenging classes. One of my most challenging classes thus far has been Biochemistry. The challenging part about it is that it is unfamiliar and new to me. My background in chemistry is not that great.
However, when something is difficult you have to simplify it in order for you to understand. One of the simplest concepts and chiropractic principle is "Every effect has a cause and every cause has effects." (Principle 17 of 33) This can be compared to life in general and for sure can be compared to Biochemistry.
Biochemistry is based on substrates being acted on by enzymes to get a product. It's like a sequence of events that lead to an ultimate goal. Without one of those steps the entire process will be inhibited and you will not get your end product. Also, some of these steps are in a cycle so in order to continue the last step has to occur in order for the first to begin. Pretty complicated? NOT Really!
One things lead to another and continues the process. Simple! When you think of it like this you can better understand the overall concept of Biochemistry.
In life sometimes you have to take the things that sometimes don't make since to you and put it in terms you may better understand. Same thing applies to talking to my future patients. Why explain to them what I learned in school, using terms that they have never heard before and confusing them even more about chiropractic. Make it simple, so that they can truly understand why they come to you.
